David and Goliath is Malcolm Gladwell's take on why underdogs are able to accomplish so much in the face of extreme adversity. From David trumping Goliath, to Hannibal's risky march on Rome, to the civil rights group led by Martin Luther King Jr. One of my main interests in the book is his use of psychological studies to showcase his points; He uses actual science to back up his claims and remarks. Gladwell's journalistic approach to writing science is refreshing and an enjoyable read--it's not dense or hard to understand even for laymen. He posits that when underdogs play the game in the same way the giants play it, there's a small chance of success. However, thinking outside the box is key for Cinderella Teams. In order to win against the odds, we simply need to change the rules.
